Songbird Privacy Policy
Effective date: December 30, 2025
Songbird is a link-translation app. When you share a Spotify or Apple Music link to Songbird, we convert it to the equivalent link on the other service.
Songbird does not stream or host music. It only translates music links between services.
What information we collect
We may collect and store the following information when you use Songbird:
- Device ID: a randomly generated identifier stored on your device and sent to our server as
deviceId. - Translation event data: the source platform, destination platform, and basic media metadata such as title and artist.
- Identifier: an industry identifier for matching (for example ISRC for tracks or UPC for albums), when available.
We do not require you to create an account. If we add login later, this policy will be updated.
How we use information
- To perform link translation and return the translated link.
- To understand usage and improve the app (for example, which translations succeed or fail).
- To debug and monitor reliability.
How we share information
Songbird uses official APIs to resolve links (for example, Spotify and Apple Music). Requests to those services may include information needed to perform the lookup.
We do not sell your personal information.
Where data is stored
Translation records may be stored in Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase). Our server infrastructure may be hosted on Vercel.
Data retention
We retain translation records for as long as needed for app operations and improvement, unless you request deletion.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information we process and store. However, no system is 100% secure.
Your choices
- You can stop all collection by uninstalling the app.
- If you want your stored translation records deleted, contact us (see below) and include your approximate usage timeframe.
Children’s privacy
Songbird is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when we do.
